My StoryOn February 26, 2018 I had a routine check with my primary care doctor. My blood work came back with some areas of elevation that were cause for concern and he requested I have a colonoscopy. My colonoscopy was on March 9, 2018 and was unable to be completed due to the size of the tumor. I had a contrast & dye CT scan on Monday, March 12th and a consult with the surgeon on Tuesday, March 13th. He was concerned with the size of the tumor and the fact that I was 98% blocked and graciously made room in his schedule to perform a bowel dissection surgery Wednesday afternoon, March 14th. He does not believe the cancer has spread to other organs. During the surgery he will also be removing the lymph nodes associated with the bowels in that area for further testing.
